The Ranger Book is a unique compilation of 375 years of American Ranger history. At the core of the project are more than 70 Ranger voices spanning 65 years. All major conflicts involving Rangers are related here, as well as training evolution and experiences of students and Instructors. Formation of the various units through the years is also discussed, along with all the associated problems and how they were solved. Beginning as independent backwoodsmen in the 1600s, the dedication and sacrifice of men who will not quit has brought about these highly trained elite warriors. Today, they are four-time volunteers: Army, Airborne, Ranger Course and Ranger Regiment. They are taught leadership and tactics by the finest Instructors the Army can offer.
