Mission
The Morris Swett Library is the TRADOC academic library for the FIRES Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, OK. We are a mission oriented activity serving the Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery students, staff and faculty. The library provides information resources and services in support of the educational and training mission and professional development of our patrons.
The library was established in 1911 when Capt. Dan T. Moore founded the School of Fire. In 1968 the library was dedicated to Morris Swett, librarian from 1915 to 1954.
Through the various missions of Fort Sill, from the birthplace of the School of Fire, the USA Artillery and Missile School, the USA Field Artillery School, to the FIRES Center of Excellence, the library has served the academic needs of the students, staff and faculty of Fort Sill for the past 100 plus years.
