The Germans again used their well-tried ground attack formula during the Aisne offensive. At first they had things their own way as the heavily mauled Allied squadrons pulled back to regroup. But once the Allies threw these units back into the battle, the Germans were halted in savage fighting over the now worn-out infantry divisions below.
