The Paris Airshow is a biennial event in which the U.S. and foreign nations demonstrate their newest commercial and military aircraft to the international market. The U.S. has participated in this event since 1965. In 1971, the USA National Pavilion, an exhibition facility, was opened to display the latest state-of-the-art in U.S. aviation technology. The latest event occurred in June 1989 and is described in this article by an American author who gives us a glimpse of the latest Soviet aircraft.
