The first female pilot to fly in the German air force graduated from the Fort Rucker AL Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course (IERW) on 16 June 2004. OberJahnrich Werena Rothe will fly UH-1 Iroquois helicopters after completion of further training in Germany.
