Despite reassurances from the Pentagon regarding the safety of anthrax vaccinations, service members continue to express their anxieties regarding physical reactions to the shots. A GAO survey of Guard members and Reservists revealed little support for the anthrax immunization program. The survey results also indicated that the vaccinations are hurting retention.
