The 92nd Infantry division was not only the only black division to fight in World War II as a division, but will also undoubtedly be the last black division the United States will ever put into the field. When reinforced by the attachment of many United States, British, and Italian troop units, it became integrated at regimental and unit level as well as a combined Allied force. It was the largest division the United States put into the field in World War II.
