This program discusses requirements that provide occupational health services for the active duty Soldier. It provides Army Medical Department (AMEED) personnel a description of each of the nine major elements of the Army's Occupational Health Program for Soldiers :1)Inventory of health hazards, 2)Job related medical surveillance, 3)Hearing conservation, 4)Respiratory protection, 5)Occupational vision, 6) Radiation protection, 7)Pregnancy sureveillance, 8)Treatment of illness/injury and 9)Employee health hazard education. Four types of potential hazards which can cause illnesses or injuries are identified : 1)Chemical, 2)Physical, 3)Biological and 4)Ergonomical. The program helps to identify and quantify potential Occupational Health Hazards in the work place and provide advice and guidance for protection against and abatement of these hazards.
