A small bus drives through the mountain pass in Izu. The young bus driver is nicknamed "Arigatō-san (Mr. Thank you)" because he greets everyone he meets on the bus route, saying "Arigatō (Thank you)." The bus carries a variety of people, such as street vendors, a woman working in a nightclub, a man who dreams of excavating gold, and a beautiful young girl who, on the way to Tokyo to sell herself to save her poor family, falls in love with Arigatō-san.
