Tells the story of 16-year-old Japanese American Irene Kawai, whose rebellion explodes in the wake of the death of her younger sister. After a clash with her mother, Irene flees her home and meets up with ghost of her sister who leads her to the desert where she makes some important discoveries about her family's past in the internment camps during World War II.
