A small village in the mountains of China is suffering from a drought. The villagers have to travel across rugged terrain in order to obtain water. One day, a girl who lives in the village saves the life of a magical deer. In gratitude, the deer shows her a hidden spring on the mountain but warns her not to reveal the existence of it to the villagers. If she does, something terrible will happen. However, she cannot bear to see the village suffer when she has the much needed water and therefore decides to tell her secret.
