This is based on the true story of the life of Pedro J. Gonzalez. As a boy of sixteen, Pedro fought in the Mexican Revolution of 1910. Eventually he came to the U.S. with his wife and worked to better the lives of Mexican-Americans in California during the Depression years and to help reform the California penal system.
