Pulp fiction writer Han Kiju has never recovered from his youthful experience as a volunteer infantryman who fought alongside American troops in Vietnam. The burden of guilt and alienation have a deep effect on his career and marriage, and a meeting with someone from his past forces Han to confront the past and the most painful events of his life.
