In the early stages of their study of Islam, all Muslims need to learn enough Arabic to read the Holy Qur'an and Hadith and to perform their prayers. Unfortunately there is a lack of English textbooks that teach the proper methods for pronouncing letters and forming words in Arabic. This book, Arabic Qaidah: Rhythmic method of Learning Quranic Arabic has been prepared to meet this need. This Qaidah is comprehensive and guides the students to the correct pronunciation of the Arabic alphabets and gradually makes the reading of the Holy Qur'an easy. In each lesson, a particular patter. of rhythmic sounds and spellings for all the alphabets has been used. The student can easily pick up the pattern of the drill and easily start learning on his or her own without much help from the teacher. It is strongly recommended that teachers guide students several times through the first few alphabets of each drill until they achieve mastery, then the students can finish the lesson by themselves. The Qaidah contains some grammatical conjugations of commonly used pronouns and verb forms presented in a visual format that allows for easy understanding and memorization of the different cases, persons, numbers, and genders. The book also contains basic Kalimas or Articles of Faith, Nyat or intentions, and doas or invocations used in prayers. These, along with a few included suras, hadith, and a poem, make the book an informative collection for any Muslim.
