Colloquial Arabic: An Oral Approach is a textbook designed to teach Colloquial Arabic to beginners. IT is designed especially to meet the phonological and grammatical needs of beginners whose native language is English. It consists of thirty lessons systematically arranged beginning with the simplest and moving to the hardest. It aims at developing mastery of all the Arabic consonants and vowels, length, the major stress patterns, the major intonational patterns, and the basic grammatical patterns of Spoken Arabic. The vocabulary is limited to 600 words for the main purpose of concentrating on pronunciation and grammar for the development of automatic linguistic habits.
