Set in Roman times, a banished Roman general fights his way back as a gladiator. The only power stronger than the emperor is the greatest hero in all the empire. After a Roman general refuses to transfer his loyalty to the new Emperor, Commodus, he becomes a slave and then a gladiator, fighting in the Coliseum in defiance of the Emperor.
