This overview of the British-Argentinean conflict focuses on an SAS raid that echoed the group's WWII operations. In 1982, tensions between Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands erupted into open hostilities. Due to the nature of the terrain, the Special Air Service, the Special Boat Squadron and the Royal Marines Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre played a vital role in the conflict, conducting multiple raids that helped turn the tide of battle decisively for the British. Greatest Raids details perhaps the most important of these operations, the SAS raid that destroyed 11 Argentinean aircraft which posed a serious threat to the British plans for an amphibious assault. Reminiscent of their World War II missions in Africa and Italy, it was a classic example of the SAS motto: "Who Dares Wins." Four months later, the war concluded with a decisive victory for the British.
