The primary objective of the workshop was to bring together specialists from both military and civilian organizations to promote further discourse, study and research on the application of Proteus Insights (PI) to Strategic Issues, focusing on the refinement, continued development and use of the Proteus lenses in future scenarios. The workshop also provided a forum for U.S. government, academic, and private organizations to exchange ideas related to Proteus Insights on how to cope with uncertainty, analyze, and plan for and make decisions on future national security issues in the complex geo-strategic environment. The workshop was designed to exchange information on alternative ways to view contemporary and future national security challenges. There were a series of background presentations and five panels that looked at alternative ways to view the future. The workshop also included a demonstration of the Protean Media.
