"During his fourth trip to Iraq, Emmy and Golden Globe winner and star of CSI: NY Gary Sinise shot approximately 26 hours of handheld camera footage meeting and greeting U.S. troops and touring military bases. This Fox News Channel special hosted by Sinise condenses this footage into a compelling documentary of his trip and his goal of '5,000 handshakes, 2,000 miles in seven days.' It captures the heartfelt meetings between Sinise and the troops in Kuwait, and in the Iraqi cities of Al Qaim, Al Asad, Ramadi and Baghdad. You'll see how Sinise embodies his 'Lt. Dan' character made famous in his Academy Award-nominated role in the 1994 movie, Forrest Gump. Gary says, 'There's no getting around that Forrest Gump was a movie that was, and still is, embraced by millions and millions of people. Within the military community, they like that character so much, that wherever I started to go for the USO and to other military events, people would call me 'Lt. Dan'.' Sinise's character's name also inspired his band. 'There are more folks that think I'm Lt. Dan than I'm Gary Sinise,' he said. 'So, I just named the band the Lt. Dan Band.' Featured in the Fox News Documentary are interviews with Vietnam War veteran and Lt. Dan Band guitarist, Kimo Williams, and drummer Danny Gottlieb."--from publisher description on box.
