West Point Deep Cover, a historical spy thriller based on a true story of Mark Durden, who at the age of eighteen joins the United States Army to escape a difficult home situation, but is quickly thrust into the world of espionage. Through a series of intentional happenstances, he wins an appointment to the Military Academy at West Point where he is recruited by the CIA as a deep cover spy within the USSR military. Mark becomes Demitri Kamenev who in less than two decades advances to be the youngest Lieutenant Colonel in the Russian GRU with access to its most important nuclear secrets. During his meteoric rise within the military, he makes an enemy of a KGB officer who makes it his life’s mission to expose Mark as a spy. This Cold War novel is set in the 1960s-1970s, where the penalty for spying for the CIA is a swift death.
