From the 1974 annual supplement's Chapter I Mission, Organization, and Key Personnel: Mission - Command all unites and activities assigned or attached to Fort Monroe, under the jurisdication of the Installation Commander. Provide administrative and logistical support as directed or covered by agreement. Accomplish planning as directed for mobilization mission. Control, coordinate, train, and prepare administration and logistical support plans for mobilization forces. Command, operate, and administer the use of the resources of Fort Monroe, Virginia to accomplish all assigned missions. Provide support to assigned, attached or tenant units or activities to include on-post and off-post units or activities in the assigned geographic areas unless such support is specifically assigned to another command.
