In discussing developments in the organization and equipment of the Field Artillery, this lecture to the regular army officers' course covers the following three topics as they relate to the Field Artillery during the past twenty years: First, changes in organization. Second, new developments in primary weapons. Third, major items of new equipment other than primary weapons. During the lecture Major Beasley indicates a few of the current major problems of the field Artillery. He discusses in some detail those which appear to be of major interest to the Corps; a brief consideration of others will be worthwhile.
