From The Issues ; FY93 "Operation Desert Storm" (page 21): Crane Army Ammunition Activity personnel started supporting the deployment of US Armed Forces to Southwest Asia on 5 August 1990. Even though the Gulf War ended in FY91, CAAA continued to play an important role in FY92 and to a lesser extent in FY93 by receiving and rewarehousing ammunition and ammunition components received from that region. Also, Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) personnel were sent there to inspect the ammunition and assist in the loading and shipping operations.
