From Preface (page iii): The ensuing account of significant historical events relate to the activities engaged in by the US Army Tank-Automotive Command during Fiscal Year 1968, covering the period from 1 July 1967 through 30 June 1968. Paramount in the Command's endeavors during this period was the impact of actions taken in support of American forces in Vietnam and the massive logistical effort directed toward that effort. Perhaps the most appropriate word that could best describe this endeavor is CHALLENGE. Although the Command was not engaged in any major realignment to its organization, significant changes were made while efforts continued in maintaining the high standards of logistical support to American forces throughout the free world.
