From U.S. Army Munitions Command annual historical summary 1973 Preface (p. ii): This summary will be the last summary of the US Army Munitions Command to be prepared and published in accordance with AMC and AR directives. This, of course, results from the fact that as of 1 July 1973, the US Army Munitions Command along with the US Army Weapons Command, the US Army Ammunition Procurement and Supply Agency, and the US Army Small Arms Systems Agency was merged into the newly created US Army Armament Command located at Rock Island, Illinois.
