This manual is not a set of official regulations. It is a guide for the use of Philippine Army personnel concerned with the organization and operation of replacement units. This is the second edition of the manual. It was originally published 9 December 1944, at Tacloban, Leyte, P. I. The new edition has been slightly reorganized in order to clarify the functions and duties of replacement personnel. Additional information, based on actual operation of United States Army and Philippine Army replacement organizations, has been included.
