The Saga prison was erected about 1925 and became the juvenile prison on 1 May 1945. The purpose of the prison was to improve the morals and physical condition of juvenile criminals and women, in a manner similar to U.S. reform school. Contains photographs of the grounds, buildings, cells and cell blocks, solitary confinement, mealtimes, inmates, administrators, files of the prison, and a map (Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan).
