This report presents a statistical summary of War Department military decorations and awards during the period 7 December 1941 through 30 June 1947 conferred upon persons not members of the United States Army. The report indicates the number of such awards made to military and civilian personnel of each foreign country and of the United States. It covers all War Department military decorations and awards except the Purple Heart Medal and the Army Commendation Ribbon, for which data were not readily available. The Medal of Honor is awarded by the War Department to members of the United States Army only.
