The object of this morning's lectures: to give general outline of the framework of the British Army on one hand and U.S. Army on the other, and to enable comparisons to be made and to give the framework on which all future studies can be built up. Only broad outline - not detail. Detail of various Services and functions of types of units comes in later lectures. This is to show how the picture fits together as a whole. British lecturer is speaking primarily to U.S. students and vice versa.
