The Occupation Forces in Europe Series, publication of which was begun in 1947, consists of a series of studies, monographs, and narratives of the history of the occupation. From time to time, the Occupation Forces in Europe Series will include a summary volume giving a narrative history of the occupation. All the studies or volumes published in the Series for the year 1945-46 or a subsequent year make up the official history of the occupation for that year. Table of contents: the policy of nonfraternization before V-E Day; nonfraternization from V-E Day to 30 September 1945; abandonment of the policy of nonfraternization; and the pattern of fraternization.
