Explains the mission of the Seventh Army in the primary and secondary phases of "Eclipse." Upon the surrender of Germany or the collapse of the German forces, the Seventh Army will advance with maximum speed to seize the area of Munich-Nurnberg-Regensburg and secure the area against possible resumption of hostilities and initiate a military government in the occupied territory. In the second phase, the Seventh Army will secure the German-Austrian and German-Czechoslovakian boarders and establish contact and liaison with Allied forces occupying territory adjacent to Bavaria, establish a military government in Bavaria, initiate disarmament and demobilization of German armed forces and establish U. S. Occupational forces in Bavaria.
