In this March 2013 interview, MAJ Edmund Naughton, US Army, Aviation; discusses his deployment to Iraq as a platoon leader and company commander for Bravo Company, 6th Battalion, 52d Aviation Regiment in 2004 through 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Naughton talks about his pre-deployment training and describes the communication he had with his predecessors prior to arriving in country. He talks about his flight missions escorting VIP movements throughout Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Europe. He discusses his transition into command and describes how his Soldiers adjusted to the transition. He shares how he was able to boost morale for his Soldiers and details a memorable flight mission. MAJ Naughton closes his interview by stating, "I think the lesson learned is you can go anywhere and do anything if you are with the right people and right leadership."
