In this January 2013 interview, MAJ Anthony Hudson, US Army, Aviation; discusses his first deployment to Iraq as a company commander for Charlie Company, 5th of the 101st Aviation in 2003 through 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Hudson discusses his first deployment in support of Global War on Terror. He describes his first few days in country and details the first day of the invasion into Iraq. He describes how he was able to boost morale for his Soldiers and he shares some difficult challenges he had to overcome. MAJ Hudson shares his deployment successes and he closes his interview by stating, "My most valuable lesson learned was that with my command team, the relationships that we were able to build, and the team that we were able to build, we did it right."
