In this November 2012 interview, MAJ Kelly French, US Army, Adjutant General; discusses her six-month deployment to Afghanistan as a mentor for National Military of Afghanistan Academy (NMAA) in 2010 through 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). MAJ French describes her first few days at NMAA developing the curriculum for the foreign language department. She shares some challenges she faced with earning trust from her Afghan counterparts as well as communication. She discusses the relationship and daily interaction she had with her Afghanistan mentor, COL Wahli and talks about the farewell ceremony as she prepared for redeployment back to the States.
