Major Matthew Cox served as company executive officer (XO) in Al Anbar Province, Iraq during 2004 and 2005 and on a military transition team (MiTT) in Tuz Kuhrmatu during 2007 and 2008, both in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In this July 2012 interview, MAJ Cox discusses his branch transfer from Infantry to Logistics, the supply and support challenges on his first deployment that led to his branch transfer, and his experiences working on a MiTT. MAJ Cox concludes his interview with the observation, "I think our Soldiers have done more than we could expect from them and the Families. They carry a very heavy burden. A lot of the public doesn't realize the sacrifices our Families have gone through."
