In this interview, MAJ Ethan Dial, US Army, Aviation; discusses his second deployment to Iraq as a company commander for 4-277th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (ARB) in 20o6 through 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Dial talks about preparing his Soldiers for deployment. He recalls his immediate reaction upon arriving into country and talks about the first few weeks getting his company established in country. He talks about his flight missions, particularly a few Fallen Angel missions. He describes how he was able to boost morale for his Soldiers despite getting extended on deployment. MAJ Dial talks about reintegration post deployment and describes the relationship he had with his colleagues and how that relationship made his deployment a success. MAJ Dial closes his interview by stating, "Tight knit units make the deployments go by easier."
