In this interview, Maj Ethan McKenna, US Air Force; discusses his deployments to Iraq as an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) senior director with the 965th Airborne Air Control Squadron (AACS) and 363rd Expeditionary Airborne Air Control Squadron (EAACS) in 2006 through 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Maj McKenna talks about when he first learned about his deployments. He describes a typical day and discusses his missions while he was in country. He describes some difficult challenges that he had to overcome and shares his deployment successes. Maj McKenna recalls a specific memory from both of his deployments and closes his interview by stating, "From everything we do, figuring out how to synchronize everything, how to do all the coordination, and the command and control."
