In this interview, MAJ Robert Moore, US Army, Engineer; discusses his deployment to Iraq as the team lead for the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 2009 through 2010 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Moore talks about preparing for deployment with only a five-day training program. He describes the mentorship he received from a Navy officer. He discusses his missions of building roads, bridges, schools, police stations, military installations and hospitals. He talks about working alongside of the Iraqis and describes that relationship. MAJ Moore describes his deployment successes and closes his interview by stating, "The most important thing that I want to emphasize is that we used creative engineering tools and models over there to help address situations that require a unique solution."
