In this interview, MAJ William Nordai, US Army, Engineer, discusses his deployment to Afghanistan as a resident officer in charge (OIC) for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Afghanistan Engineer District in 2010 through 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). MAJ Nordai talks about establishing a place to work out of when he first arrived to country and details a typical day. He describes the working relationship that he established with the Germans, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Afghanistan National Army (ANA) and the Afghanistan National Police (ANP). MAJ Nordai discusses some difficult challenges he had to overcome and closes his interview by stating, "I think the hardest thing to do across NATO is identifying what success is."
