In this interview, MAJ Elizabeth Cain, US Army, Military Police; discusses her deployment to Iraq as a company commander for 59th Military Police Company in 2007 through 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Cain talks about her pre-deployment and preparing her Soldiers for deployment. She talks about the handoff she received from the outgoing company and describes a typical day once her company was established in country. She talks about training the Iraqi police, describing the relationship she had with her Iraqi counterpart, GEN Adnon and detailing the various ways that she was able to form a bond with him. MAJ Cain describes how she was able to boost morale for her Soldiers and closes her interview by stating, "The personal relationship [with Iraqi counterpart] is just as important as the working relationship."
