In this interview, Maj Carl Pawling, US Air Force, discusses his two deployments to Florida as an operations research analyst in 2005 through 2006 and 2009 in support of Global War on Terror. Maj Pawling discusses his role and describes his mission of developing assessments on bi-weekly basis, streamlining data gathering analysis processing, developing a theater-wide picture of political, religious, military and economic events for synchronization of plans and activities. Maj Pawling talks about some difficult challenges he had to overcome and closes his interview by stating, "In addition to looking at who's vulnerable for an assignment and trying to understand what the job is that they are going to be moving into is selecting somebody for that deployment that has the skillset necessary to accomplish that job."
