MAJ Steven Neill served in the III Corps Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) office at Camp Victory, Iraq during 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In this October 2011 interview, MAJ Neill discusses the duties of the SJA, the challenges of preparing for trial, and his involvement in the prosecution of US Soldiers implicated in the detainee abuse incidents at Abu Ghraib. MAJ Neill concludes his interview with the observation, "I really enjoy this. I think what I like about it is not just what happens in the courtroom and how exciting and interesting that can be, but how important it is for the military to accomplish its mission."
