In this interview MAJ Matthew Davis discusses his deployment to Afghanistan as an Engineer who was part of the Combined Joint Task Force-76 (CJTF-76) working in Regional Command West (RC West) in Afghanistan. MAJ Davis describes his pre-deployment training, deployment into theater, and the transition he faced while getting established in country. MAJ Davis discusses challenges he faced, how he worked with the Pakistanis during the earthquake relief efforts, and his interaction with the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Coalition Forces in the country. MAJ Davis concludes his interview by stating that he feels that when units deploy back into theater they should return to the same location they were at the last time they were in country.
