MAJ Brian Jacobson served as a signal officer in Baghdad, Iraq during 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In this March 2011 interview, MAJ Jacobson discusses the preparation for deployment, the conditions on the ground during his unit's move from Kuwait to Baghdad, and the challenges of keeping communications up and running in the early part of US involvement in Iraq. MAJ Jacobson concludes his interview with the observation, " It's a crime that they got rid of the DIVCAV squadrons. With modularity they went and you lost your total combined arms force; that's about it."
