In this interview, MAJ Anthony Gore, US Army, Infantry; discusses his 15-month deployment to Iraq as the assistant operations officer (S3) and then transitioned into company commander in 2006 through 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Gore discusses a typical day in theater and shares a specific memory. MAJ Gore talks about some difficult challenges he overcame and compares his three deployment experiences. MAJ Gore defines the successes on his second deployment and closes his interview by stating, “We need to work harder at taking lessons learned and bringing those lessons learned back to the unit.”
