MAJ Steven Wallace served with as a platoon leader, adjutant (S1), executive officer (XO) and company commander with the 82nd Airborne Division in various areas in Afghanistan during 2002-2003 and again in 2006-2007 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and in Fallujah, Iraq during 2003-2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In this October 2010 interview, MAJ Wallace discusses the uncertainty surrounding how to do his mission during his initial deployment into Afghanistan, the awful conditions and chaos during his deployment in Fallujah, and the changes he noticed on his 2006-2007 deployment back to Afghanistan.
