MAJ Jason Kristolaitis served as the inland transportation officer, logistics section (G4) at US Army Forces, US Central Command (ARCENT) for Third Army at Camp Doha, Kuwait during 2001 and 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In the first of three February 2009 interviews, MAJ Kristolaitis discusses the hectic operations tempo (OPTEMPO) at Camp Doha in preparation for initial combat operations in Afghanistan and the challenges he faced as a young captain serving at such a high echelon. MAJ Kristolaitis states that his biggest lesson learned from this deployment was, "Know what your responsibilities are, make sure you stay in your lane, and make sure that duties and responsibilities are where they should be."
