In this interview, Major Joseph Giusti, artillery officer with the 101st Airborne Division, talks about his deployment to Kirkuk in Iraq as the Company Commander of HHB, 2nd Battalion, 320th Artillery in September 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Giusti discusses his experiences with protection of Iraqi oil fields, training Iraqi military police, Oil Protection Forces, concentrating particularly on his unit's partnership with the Iraqi forces to fulfill the directive to preserve the oil fields as one of the first steps in assisting the government of Iraq to stabilize and become a strong economic power.
