Major Elvis Coronado served as an effects battle captain in the tactical operations center of 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in Samarra, Iraq, from November 2003 through November 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In this interview, he discusses the brigade's mission, getting reassigned to an artillery battalion during the deployment, and his duties in the tactical operations center. He also talks about redeploying back to Fort Lewis, assuming command of a headquarters and service battery, redeploying to Iraq with 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry, and conducting missions in Baghdad.
