From April to October 2007 in support of the Global War on Terrorism, Major Scott Gould served as the chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) officer with the Qatar-based CENTCOM Joint Security Office and was tasked with traveling all throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility - to include Egypt, Kenya, Afghanistan, Iraq and Jordan - to conduct vulnerability assessments of locations where US troops were living, training and traveling to. "It was basically force protection and physical security," he said, "at a much wider level."
